Golf culture at the highest level
Golfclub München Eichenried is a member of the “Leading Golf Courses of Germany”
The community of quality and values “The Leading Golf Courses of Germany e. V.” has accepted Golfclub München Eichenried as a member effective 1 January 2013! Golf culture at the highest level” on the 27-hole course is therefore certified with the worldwide degree of familiarity. Eichenried also additionally enhances its great attractiveness for golfers with this recognised, valuable seal of quality.
The community of the “Leading Courses of Germany” relies on the verifiable quality of the entire golf course. Their members undergo an anonymous testing procedure several times per year. This testing procedure is prepared, implemented, evaluated and constantly further developed by an independent, international market research institution.
A total of 10 quality areas will be scrutinised. The course characteristics – fixed course conditions, fairways, greens, tees, practice area and course facilities come under this aspect – are incorporated in the evaluation with a factor of 60%. The four quality areas including secretariat, restaurant, infrastructure (golf school, pro shop) and image appearance / marketing are weighted with 40%. For instance, in the so-called “mystery test” there is a catalogue of questions encompassing 100 points in which friendliness, competence, ambience and other services count.
“By being accepted in the circle of the ‘Leading Golf Courses’ we see another image gain for our golf club”, says Eichenried’s managing director Korbinian Kofler with pleasure. “Our members can be proud that their golf club is among the best, and now guests are also even more aware that we are among the top courses in terms of quality. For our team this is also an incentive to continually improve.”
Eichenried’s president Karl-Friedrich Löschhorn adds: “We can fully identify ourselves with the philosophy of the ‘Leading Golf Courses’. The pursuit of quality in all areas and its verification has been of essential importance to us for many years and an integral part of the continual improvement process at Eichenried. The obligation to continue on this path in the future arises through the membership in the community of quality and values. We also look forward to the exchange of experience with the other ‘Leading Golf Courses’, which shall particularly serve the further improvement of our high quality standards.”
In the meantime, 39 golf clubs in Germany belong to the association. Among the clubs in the immediate vicinity are Olching, Wörthsee, Riedhof, Beuerberg and the Wittelsbacher Golf Club. They all advocate the preservation of the “spirit of the game”, i.e. for the preservation and maintenance of basic golf values such as rules, dress code and etiquette.
